High Strength Welding electrode for rebuilding of Press-Forging Dies & Tools.
LoTherme-699, a non-synthetic electrode, is specially developed to build up press forging dies & tools. Electrodes are Suitable for all welding positions. Repair of worn-out or damaged portions. Salvage of undersized or scrapped die-blocks through complete rebuilds using weld metal. Rebuilding of complex profiles that require a balanced combination of wear resistance, toughness, and machinability for optimal performance.
The specially formulated welding electrode delivers exceptional strength and wear resistance at elevated service temperatures. It provides excellent resistance to metal-to-metal wear and offers strong impact resistance along with high compressive strength. Weld Metal has Superior deformation resistance at Elevated temperatures. Highly compatible with die block steels. It can be machined using tungsten carbide tools. Electrodes are Suitable for all welding positions.
LoTherme-699 is ideally suited for rebuilding worn-out press forging dies, punches, and inserts. Clean the surface & remove the crack & Fatigue Layer. Pre-heat the job to 350- 400°C & Maintain throughout the welding. Keep the Electrode 90° to the welding direction. Clean the interpass beads with a pneumatic hammer. After completion of welding air cooled the job to 200°C to get a uniform hardness. Temper the job at 550-600°C for 1Hr/inch. Then cool in still air.
As Welded: 38-44 HRC
After Tempering 550-660°C: 36-42 HRC.
Redry the electrode at 250°C for 01 hour before use. Use low current, short arc, and stringer beads. Wherever possible, weld in the flat position.
